NZ web design & branding for Discover Dingleburn.

Dingleburn Station has until now, been largely inaccessible to the public. We’re really pleased to share the fact that you can now visit, and stay at this iconic New Zealand high country station.

Discover Dingleburn is now welcoming Kiwi holiday makers to unwind and relax in this breath taking location. If you’ve been fortunate enough to mountain bike through the farm during the annual Contact Epic, you’ll have a fair idea of the idyllic location.

It’s a must-see. No, scratch that, it’s a must-experience.

Beautiful branding to set the tone.

There is a definite niche tourism market that Discover Dingleburn are appealing to: local New Zealand adventure seekers, wanting to unwind and explore previously inaccessible parts of Central Otago.

The design of their logo was created with these individuals in mind. Families teaching their kids to fish, couples looking for some adventurous time away, best mates hiking up the valley or some of the girls just looking to get away from it all.

For full disclosure, the use of the coordinates in the logo was Nicky’s idea. And we loved it. This aspect of the branding further amplifies how the location itself is in fact the main attraction.

The imperfect font also carries the style and type of experience – you’re on a high country station, there’s going to be mud!

What was the biggest challenge?

Nothing is really a challenge when you’re dealing with down to earth Kiwis like the Meade’s. The integration with their online booking system was as straightforward as all other aspects of this tourism web project.

We were given clear direction for their branding, and left to manage the WordPress web design process entirely.

The business goals were our main focus.

Discover Dingleburn was a new business. One with no Google presence, no industry knowledge and zero community chatter. As with every start up business, helping the Meade’s get their name out there was key.

Increasing awareness of this holiday destination needed to be carried out as quickly as possible, to help the team generate bookings and enquiries.

Various avenues were taken to build the awareness, and the use of strategic search engine optimisation (SEO) was of course essential. Our SEO team paid special attention to the hundreds of properties that each web page offers to Google. The only solid SEO strategy is one that’s thorough, so we crossed every t and dotted ever i.
