Off the back of a fairly disturbing phone call, I wanted to make sure we were all clear on a few things.
And I’ll get straight to the point.
- It’s not ok to wait weeks for a response from your digital agency.
- It’s not ok to be ignored by your web developer.
- It’s not ok for your website to keep going down.
- It’s not ok for your marketing company to use AI without sufficient testing processes.
- It’s not ok for your Google Ads provider to leave out a list of negative keywords.
- It’s not ok for your conversion rate to go from 10% to 0% after changing providers.
- It’s not ok to invest in a content strategy that hurts your Google visibility.
- It’s not ok to be told you’re being pedantic (when you know, deep down, that something is off).
It’s not ok.
Sadly, this isn’t a rare story. We hear versions of this far more often than we should (but not usually all at once).
What often gets overlooked is the emotional toll
When your website is down, your ads aren’t converting, or your enquiries suddenly dry up, it’s not just a technical issue. It’s stress. It’s that nagging feeling that something is slipping through the cracks and you’re the only one noticing.
I believe that good digital support should feel calm, almost predictable. You should be able to focus on your business, knowing someone will step in, proactively, at the drop of a hat.
Find your people
Take stock of your current situation. Are you getting proactive advice, clear communication, and accountability? Or are you constantly chasing, second-guessing, and fixing things after the damage is already done?
Build a network of partners, advisors, and service providers who have your back, share your goals, and treat your business with the care it deserves.
